  1. Sing a Song of Sixpence
  2.  
  3. 'Calling all blackbirds, everywhere!
  4. EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY!'
  5. 'To the rescue, to the rescue!' the blackbirds squawked.
  6.  
  7. Peter and Paul were sitting on their wall.
  8. They heard the squawks and squeals and screeches.
  9. 'This is an EMERGENCY,' they cried and rose into the air.
  10.  
  11. Blackbirds from everywhere rose into the sky.
  12. From far and wide they came, from the fields, from the hedgerows,
  13. from the hillsides ... there was an EMERGENCY.
  14.  
  15. It was dinner time and Old King Cole was hungry!
  16. Old King Cole liked pie ... BLACKBIRD PIE.
  17. Thick pastry, yummy gravy and plump blackbird.
  18.  
  19. Cook had made the pastry and the gravy but had forgotten
  20. to fry the blackbirds. So when the King opened the pie
  21. they all flew out ... singing and squawking ... EMERGENCY!
  22.  
  23. 'Peck his ear off, pull out his hair, nibble his nose.
  24. ATTACK ... ATTACK ... ATTACK...' they cried
  25. as they chased the King down the lane.
  26.  
  27. The Queen was sitting quietly in her parlour
  28. when she heard the squawking and the shrieking.
  29. She put down her honey sandwiches at once.
  30.  
  31. Millie the Maid was in the garden hanging out the clothes
  32. when she heard the squawking and the squealing.
  33. I must hurry, she thought and pegged as fast as she could.
  34.  
  35. The King had tried to eat Peter's brothers and sisters.
  36. Peter could see Millie in the garden. Now it was his turn.
  37. Millie had  a very big nose. ATTACK! ATTACK!

  39. Quick as a flash, Peter swooped down from the sky.
  40. PECK, PECK, PECK he went ... and when he flew away...
  41. Millie's nose was in his beak. 
  42.  
  43. 'EMERGENCY, EMERGENCY,' shouted the Dame
  44. as she rushed into the parlour to tell the Queen.
  45. 'A blackbird has pecked off Millie's nose!'
  46.  
  47. Millie was making such a commotion that everyone heard.
  48. 'EMERGENCY,' shouted the Royal Nurse.
  49. 'EMERGENCY,' shouted the Master of the King's Horses.
  50.  
  51. Jenny Wren had picked up Millie's nose where Peter had dropped it.
  52. She felt sorry for Millie. After all SHE hadn't tried to eat the blackbirds.
  53. So she popped it on again.
  54.  
  55. Millie was all of a dither, so shocked that she shook.
  56. She'd batter the cook for making blackbird pie.
  57. She'd batter the King himself for trying to eat it.
  58.  
  59. Peter was sitting on the wall as Paul flew back.
  60. 'Let that be a lesson to them,' said Paul.
  61. And it was ... the King only eats lettuce pies now.
